Since Monday…
2 05 2008Since these posts have taken the form of a journal (more or less)… I thought I’ll update you, about the happenings and the close-to-happenings since Monday.
We had a spectacular terrible-Tuesday! We couldn’t stay awake, we had too much coffee, and we smoked copious amounts of Gold flakes to sustain ourselves. We also got reprimanded for too many breaks and too little work (sort of!). What we did discuss was a movie we like, ‘Dream for an Insomniac’. It isn’t a great movie, it isn’t a masterpiece, it isn’t something that reflects cinematographic skill or editing skills or directorial skills. It’s just a beautifully written story about a Frank-Sinatra-obsessed-beautiful-wannabe-actress-who-cannot-get-enough-shut-eye! (surprise! surprise!) There are hardly any surprises in the movie… but it’s just so lovely. It lazily washes over you… the sepia turns colourful when he walks in with his Sinatra like blue eyes… she starts dancing and expecting her extraordinary love… after all, anything less than extraordinary was a waste of her time. He is a writer and yummy! So, it’s a movie that makes you believe and also crave for that mad passionate love, that you believed in and hoped for when you were a little girl read: hormone crazed teenager! All in all, watch it, if you can get your hands on it. I’ve seen it a gazillion times! My favourite part is the quotes-war! :)
On Wednesday, what did we do? Hmmm… prayed for the salary… worked out of a different office all day. We were at our creative best! On our feet, with dying laptop batteries! Lovely. It was followed with a friend getting mad at us for agreeing to a senior’s birthday treat… He’s a senior! And it was his birthday! I was right, wasn’t I? We got drunk and we heard the worst possible music in the history of mankind. It’s this 2 member band that belts out covers at the speed of lightning. Too bad they don’t realise how much more practice they require… who the hell ruins ‘With or without you’?! or ‘Knocking on heaven’s door’!?!? (considering the the million musicians who covered it, didn’t, what gave you two the right the royally roger it!) Oh well, we were tired and drunk on JD and Sangrias… so we passed out in the car. Reached home, and slept like a a tired drunk girl. Not a baby, babies don’t sleep well (whoever said that was an idiot).
Thursday, my dear dear friends, was a holiday. Yay! Labour of the world unite! Bow wow wow wow! Sing it now! We got our degree!!! In the sweltering smouldering supremely hot city of Delhi, we travelled by auto and then car (thank god!) and got our degree. It’s one ugly piece of parchment. We then parked ourselves at Mocha and indulged in some pure goodness of chocolate, then of berries and then of cheese! It was perfect. Also, we witnessed something fantabulous! A girl shopped - she entered shop at ten past 8, she tried on 4 items of clothing, she purchased 3 items at 20 past 8. WOW. I was amazed and stumped and trying to delay the process for it seemed too surreal. So, whoever says girls take too much time to shop, please do correct yourselves! Girls can take ages to shop if they wish to. They window shop, they laze around, they try stuff for fun… but if they are under a time contraint then no one can stop them! No one!
On Friday, we are at work. We are royally rogerred. We want to go get some beer and watch the match. We will do that and work on the Saturday too. Thankfully we will use Remote Connect and work from our home in our pyjamas!
I hope Delhi wins. Yes, yes, IPL. Yes, today’s match against Chennai. Okay? Okay.
